We see that awareness in the beginning stages lacks the depth of commitment to act on it and also many times isn’t connected to our hearts. We will learn and develop our capacity to discover how to both convey and receive awareness in a way that can change the way in which we live.
There are four stages that are gone into depth that start with the awareness that all of us are still unaware and it comes with humility that sees life as an endless opportunity to keep growing our hearts and wisdom.
We then progress to see that we also can move to the next level where we have flashes of awareness where we can see conflictual areas of our life more clearly, but it would require so much of us that we can only see this clarity for brief moments. These insights naturally would lead to change that will cause disruption in the way our life is currently being lived and these changes are significant enough that we can’t (unconsciously) retain the awareness because of the conflict we would have to face.
The third area of awareness that we will explore together is when we are able to see clearly on an intellectual level what is needed, but are lacking the conviction and heart engagement to actually change what we see in our day to day lives.
The fourth level of awareness, which is “Awareness That Heals” is when we can see parts of our life that are not in accord with our highest potential. In this fourth level our hearts are engaged and we have the passion and conviction to integrate these changes in our daily lives. This is often confused with simply being intellectually aware of a part of our life like anger, but because it is only seen intellectually it does not provoke the necessary conviction and heart involvement to create breakthroughs in our life. This distinction is a discernment that will support your life in a way that is a key to living life from your heart and wisdom.
Tuning Into Tone of Voice.
This section will cover the areas that psychology hasn’t taken advantage of to help care for their clients, and all too frequently even the therapists have a limited awareness of their own. We will get a chance to see directly how your tone of voice conveys often times your subconscious feelings, and will determine whether you are generating a conversation that is likely to be beneficial or harmful.
Tone of voice conveys both our motivations and underlying emotional state. We’ll see how awareness of our tone can provide invaluable insights into how we sound, but also give us an opportunity to do the inner work to improve the quality of our lives by expressing a quality that is closer to our hearts. We will also explore who the people are in your lives that you need to learn about through listening more closely to how they sound and what adjustments and communication might benefit those relationships.
There is no area where tone of voice is more valuable to heighten our awareness than our love relationships. Because of our excessive attachments and the importance of our love partners we frequently will see how much looser we can be than we realized by expressing more emotions like anger, frustration, impatience and can have a chance to preempt struggles or learn from the struggles that we’ve had.
The healing potential is almost unlimited in this area where it turns out that children especially between the ages of 4-13 are frequently more aware than we are. We will do our best to make it clear how the greater awareness can foster our being able to be higher quality, parents, partners, family members and community citizens. It is one of the greatest alternatives that is literally coming out of our mouths.
