Over the last few articles, we’ve been exploring the importance and the need for a centralized World Body (WB) of nations to help the world in its current dire situation. From the creation of a World Body for peace and survival, the impact of individual responsibility, and the WB’s impact on military spending and nuclear threats, the goal is the continued well-being of the world. In the first article in this series, we explored how creating a unique World Body that includes every nation of significant influence in different spheres can help us build a more peaceful, generous, and better world.
If and when the most powerful 3-5 countries in the world, appearing to be opposite in many ways, agreed that the world and their countries were likely to die and proposed a world body be formed, it is hard to imagine that the vast majority of the world wouldn’t follow to contribute.
Then, virtually every country could find ways to make sure everyone has a vote that is differentiated in points based on how the countries agree to value what we have already discussed above. Again it is clear that none of the larger countries would participate if they weren’t given preferential voting power reflecting their accurate position in the world. It is vital that this be seen as a gradual increase in trust to prove the benefits of international trade, trust, technology sharing, innovation, energy, and so forth.
The inclusion of virtually every country is not meant to be literal but as inclusive as possible to get things started in a beginning understanding. It will likely begin with an informal private meeting between several of the major powers without a formal announcement to eliminate pressure and rebellious actions on the nations or organizations that are likely to resist any form of international guidance and authority. It will not take a tremendous visionary to see the need for unity.
Having a separate World Body might meet significant resistance, and it might be more favorable to simply have each country’s agreements in place throughout the world. This is because it might be more agreeable and natural to have more independence. The one exception would seem to be that it is hard to imagine safety being established without having an agreed-to place. This would be necessary when the predominance of nuclear weapons are gradually transferred to a central location. However, the benefit is evident once greater trust is established through international cooperation.
In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the impact of the World Body on the environment. Specifically, the different ways we need to take care of our planet for our continued survival. At the same time, we’ll also explore the role of individual wealth and the ever-evolving presence of technology in our world and how it impacts us.
The World Body and The Environment
Setting ground rules for the guideline, and consequences for how we interact and use our natural environment is a crucial aspect of this proposed World Body. There are too many details as to what would need to be covered, but it is clear that it needs to protect the world’s natural resources. There must be strict penalties for poisoning the air, water, or land. Vital resources (like those mentioned below) must be valued at a level that is next to life itself.
They provide the bases for how we survive in the world, and there needs to be an authority in every area of the planet that monitors the optimal usage of these resources. Otherwise, we will continue destroying ourselves by squandering away these resources necessary for our survival and our ability to thrive.
Some of the best examples that need protection, monitoring, and putting economic values on their good or wasted use include:
- Water
- Soil
- Air
- Timber
- Salt
- Oil
- Natural Gas
- Coal
- Iron
- Bauxite
- Helium
- Copper
- Animals and agriculture that represent all kinds of health
The Role of Individual Wealth In Caring For Our World
The question of whether money wholly belongs to those that earn it or whether there is a collective responsibility is precisely the middle point in the age-old debates between socialism and democracy. It seems evident that we don’t want to kill individual incentives to maximize motivation, innovation, job creation, and a collective inspiration to do our individual best.
At the same time, it is also vital that individual wealth doesn’t trump the well-being of the masses through excesses that will make it unviable for those that are most impoverished to be given opportunities, for the planet’s natural resources to be protected, and for global warming to be vigorously encountered.
As these massive amounts of money congregate into a more united purpose of global survival, it is utterly viable that it will be a functioning arm of the past work of Buckminster Fuller. As we’ve previously explored in our article focusing on individual responsibility and impact, we all must become aware of our potential to care for others by providing work
opportunities to everyone to create their own survival and health and contribute to giving support to those that are truly incapable of working.
For those who need a refresher, Fuller’s concept of “World Game” expressed the need for humankind to use teamwork to utilize Earth’s limited resources fully. He saw the obviousness that there are plenty of resources but that our world is caught in separate entities competing with very little interest in fostering world survival and cooperation.
Think about how different our world would be if a growing percentage of us imagined every action we took was multiplied by eight and a half billion; the new normal was giving a percentage of wealth to create work opportunities for the disenfranchised people and supporting elements on the earth to survive. Imagine if our politicians and leaders would all recognize that there were only a few years left to save the planet. Think how quickly things would change if we all collaborated, compromised, communicated with this urgency, and shared this mission for the highest good of all of life.
It is not hard to visualize this nurturing, intelligent and pragmatic orchestration of a world body of nations occurring if you realize it would be originated with life and death being more profoundly at stake, and addressed at every step in a gradual way to make it feasible. There would also be enough time for the psychological and economic change in intentions and actions to go from seed to fruition and from insight to a new sense of what it means to be an integrated world citizen contributing to survival.
This is particularly viable as there is an increasing group of global citizens who have enough wealth and no longer feel the need to have more money. There are multiple movements throughout the planet that either are operating from this insight or are dominantly valuing survival and well-being more-so than wealth. There is a sense of satiation, and the primary desire that remains is to take care of the Earth and the rest of life. A growing number of people have congregated just in my limited experience who, like myself and The Global Bridge Foundation, have had the same motive but taken the form of impact investing, philanthropy, or social investing.
The Acumen Fund is an excellent example of doing the same thing in the form of a foundation. It includes the most intelligent business minds with which The Global Bridge Foundation has had the joy of being partners. Acumen is a leader among several others that invests in the disenfranchised by providing a business plan to scale and, at the same time, creates products and services that are fulfilling the greatest needs in both the United States and throughout the globe.
This extraordinary potential of merging with the trillions of dollars already being invested in benefitting the survival of humankind and the planet likely gives us the best hope. My dearest and deepest wish is that this paper and information, along with thousands of other opportunities that are available for those that are seeking them, will help inspire the many extraordinary humanitarian business leaders to recognize more and more that we need to join forces with each other and have the joy of not competing but cooperating.

- John Liu, one of the original pioneers of Eco-System Restoration, which the United Nations declared last June as the ‘Decade of Eco-System Restoration’ ● Clifford Smith from Kentucky in the Appalachians has 7000 acres and is embarking on creating a training program for re-forestation, regenerative agriculture, and ecosystem restoration
- Everytable, the extraordinary source of healthy food given to the poorest parts of the population and expanding to other states, is also contemplating integrating regenerative agriculture in its completely innovative generating of very low-cost meals for the economically disadvantaged in Los Angeles
- Cooperation directly with another 10 or more foundations and organizations that are doing similar work.
And The Global Bridge Foundation, which is a bridge between these groups, to name just one thread of thousands of positive partnerships that exist in the world today. There are literally tens of thousands of impact investing firms, foundations, and philanthropic individuals who want to solve the global problems of the day. These businesses are finding each other in a similar way to what was described as our humble alternative to bring the bottom up through our foundation and combine the housing with regenerative agriculture and clean energy.
One of the greatest statements I have heard came from the CEO of Acumen, “[Their] criteria for success is by creating “competition that wants to do the same thing, which is to bring the bottom economic strata up and create products that benefit the world at the same time.” This
competition simply means that there are plenty of others that, in reality, aren’t competing even though they are doing the same work to benefit humanity.
This motive, united by many brilliant, successful minds, could become the dominant force in the world, especially once it is more evident to more people that we are in a life and death situation. I have no doubt that there are enough significant business opportunities to bring the bottom economic strata up and care for the Earth at the same time.
This profitability can be reinvested in the same with a dual motive to continue to care for the people and elements that most need it and make it the central priority to create wealth and benefit the world at the same time. This is an inspiring additional alternative to add to philanthropy in addition, to impact investing.
There is a similar vehicle for foundations to make what is called Project Related Investments (PRIs), where instead of simply donating money, the foundations receive a very small return on investment (typically 1-4%) by lending their money to viable businesses that are created for the betterment of the world.
There are many foundations that are willing to gamble on higher-risk populations and situations where they know there are no guarantees that they will indeed get their money back. However, if the business plan goes as hoped, the foundations receive their money back with this small return. Our foundation has been involved with this kind of investing as well for many years.
The World Body and Excessive Individual Wealth
A very controversial area for consideration of the WB might be a set of international rules for the extremes of individual and corporate wealth. These would be limits or guidelines during life, upon death, or both, and how wealth considered excessive to pass on arbitrarily must go to employing/mentoring/housing cooperatives of the poorest of the poor that will, directly and indirectly, benefit the survival of the Earth.
At this relatively early stage of threat (given the factors of denial of the danger of mass death and planetary injury), this is likely to be a non-starter. However, as it becomes more apparent that many people’s wealth is enough to care for 25,000 people or more, it will very likely make sense to have limits both during the lifetime and virtually for sure at the time of death.
When an international or national agency that efficiently gives work opportunities with a tax write-off for those with wealth is created, it will improve credibility that will provide maximum incentive that the money won’t be wasted in bureaucracy or greed. There is even a likelihood that as the local low-income communities become profitable, that part of the money can be further repurposed toward other poor communities.
How can technology help us care for each other?
It often occurs to me what would have been possible or what is possible now if the ideas of Buckminster Fuller had the support of much of the vast wealth of the world to program Artificial Intelligence (AI) to provide the sequence of solutions to world survival and improve the quality of life for every being in the world.
A large percentage of the world doesn’t see the potential for AI to be the source of transforming our very way of living on planet earth. This is furthered because the vast majority of the money that is being given to AI is for corporations and nation-states to enhance their profit motives..
However, as Einstein has said, “You can’t solve a problem at the same level that it exists .” We need someone (or something) to be thinking exclusively for the collective of all of life. AI is on a different level of thinking than the ordinary mind. Even our greatest philosophers, teachers, and guides haven’t had the pragmatic skills and information to guide the political powers that are occurring on autopilot, what steps it would take to increase trust gradually and to face the reality of impending death if we don’t change our ways. Moreover, we have a
limited understanding of exactly what resources exist and how we can most efficiently transport them to the most needed areas on Earth.
The AI in the hands of the WB (who’s looking out for the world) could be further programmed to do a step-by-step analysis to see how technology, money, resources, manpower, energy, and the environment can serve the countries that need each aspect as soon as possible.
Similarly, AI can explore how different kinds of energy can be created with minimal dangerous side effects and how human resources can be best orchestrated and transported to the areas that need the most help. It can also create optimal agricultural practices and distribution systems that serve the largest groups required and design medical breakthroughs.
AI can even develop innovative practices that can save lives, anticipate dangerous situations with solutions put in place, what kind of shelters can be provided that will create jobs and protection for the largest populations in each locale, what crops are best suited locally as well, what medical systems can be put in place to protect the people throughout the world — the possibilities are truly endless and immensely impossible to comprehend.
This will require trillions of dollars to be invested — the largest amount of money given to AI. As a result, very wealthy philanthropic and socially conscious investors are the most likely source that needs to be reached, and this paper’s primary hope is to reach everyone that has wealth.
All of us can be conduits to support the clear turning point for humanity in a psychological, spiritual, practical, environmental, and pragmatic direction. We can create a conversation that sees the necessity to put our attention on a guiding power that oversees the planet.
Controlling cybercrime & tech warfare
One area that needs our immediate attention is developing multiple strategies to create a sensible balance between free speech and destructive messaging that has and will continue to lead to death and destructive division in the world through cyberspace unless we make and enforce rules and guidelines.
The cyber-world will need the guidance of a World Body (or the international equivalent) with the power of enforcement. However, I hope we don’t wait that long to have the major countries and corporations come to a clear understanding. Free speech does not mean that we have the right to speak or write words or pictures that will lead to killing or the ability to spread clear lies that will lead to destruction.
There needs to be monitoring bodies protecting the well-being of the world or the nation upon which it exists. These “Peace officers” would truly be the monitors of whatever boundaries are affected. We have to have clear boundaries between very dangerous lies that will lead to death and superficial differences of opinions that will not lead to mortal injury.
Countering misinformation, propaganda, and distrust
How can we not see that the cyber-world unmonitored is like a parent teaching us what the “supposed truth is” without discrimination?
In so many cases, it is like allowing a psychopathic influence to be leading not only our youth but also our adult population into believing myths and conspiracies. There needs to be at the very least a commentary that makes it clear that the population should not rely on the information as being “the truth” or even true when it is information that leads to hatred, violence, threats to democracy, injustice, prejudice.
I believe that these sources of information need be held liable legally for leading others to acts of violence, bigotry, or any kind of clear personal injury. It is so often being received as a modern-day source of the truth, and there clearly needs to be careful discrimination.
Otherwise, the world is being influenced in directions to make a mockery of truthful, verified information and what is needed for our human race to survive. It is only as a last resort that it makes sense to allow it to be presented with the caveat that it’s not verified or verifiable. It would be much better if there simply is a site for unverified information that is clearly understood to be rejected by the credible media. But, again, this is also the last resort, as the best case for the world is not to let this spread.
All these resources and more have been at the mercy of arbitrary, economically-motivated corporations, governments, politicians and individuals. This has to be monitored and has to be set with a cost for the misuse of these finite resources as well. Or we may as well be digging our own graves.
This can be done in so many ways that this paper will not attempt to take a stand whether it is done by charging a fee that will be used to promote other resources, rewards for enhancement, severe punishment, limits placed on endangered or greatly-limited resources, allocations as to how a given resource is used, locations being given different limits, protected species that are enforced, etc.
This is a highly complex area that could be benefitted from a program using artificial intelligence programmed to clarify the best methods for our survival on the Earth. The WB is a key to gaining the kind of authority that will have the influence needed to change the world’s priorities.
Many of these areas that represent the greatest changes in the status quo need to be presented in a gradual way to make it viable to create a natural, increasing trust. In a sense, the purpose of this body will be clearer than any other vital organization that humankind has ever developed.
These ideas must be seen as seeds for the right time when the threats are profoundly recognized, as it is not easy to imagine it happening before this is the case (based on our human history). Of course, there will be visionaries that will come up with many proposals like this. However, the conditions will likely have to be truly desperate to change the arthritic behaviors of humankind.
